Financial risk is real
Gaming can result in financial loss. It is entertainment with risk, not a savings plan, investment or source of guaranteed income. Money needed for rent, food, bills, education, healthcare, debt payments or savings should not be used for participation.
Decide a fixed affordable amount before opening an external service. When that amount is used, stop. Increasing the amount to recover an earlier loss is chasing losses and can quickly deepen financial harm.
Set a time limit and take breaks
Short rounds can make time difficult to notice. Set an alarm or use another independent time reminder. Take regular breaks away from the screen and avoid participation when tired, upset, under pressure or affected by alcohol or other substances.
Do not allow game activity to replace sleep, work, study, family commitments or social contact. A limit is useful only when it is followed consistently.
Never borrow to continue
Do not use loans, credit intended for essential costs or money borrowed from friends and family to participate. Do not rely on a future win to repay a debt. If participation has already created debt or secrecy, stop and seek help before returning.
